A resurfaced Ben Affleck interview has got me very worried about the year 2004. Wtf was going on in the world at that time? Who on earth was in charge of television programming? How the hell did this make it onto the air? The internet has unearthed an interview between Ben Affleck and reporter Anne-Marie Losique form the year 2004 and it is all kinds of wrong. In the clip, Losique sits on Affleck’s lap while he says things like:

“They would like it better if you did the show topless.”

“You usually show a lot more cleavage than this. What’s the story? Why are you covering it up today?” “It’s Sunday morning,” she responds. “It’s Sunday morning? That never stopped you before from getting them titties out.”

“All you want to do is have sex all the time … I feel used and exploited. I feel undervalued and objectified by you.”

They carry on like this for a very cringeworthy five minutes.

Congrats if you made it past the word “titties”!

Losique told The Hollywood Reporter that people have taken the interview out of context. “You have to understand that we have done dozens and dozens of interviews like that. It was for a show I was producing, so I was not at all a victim,” she said. “When the cameras rolled, we would start to do that game. As soon as it stopped rolling, there was none of that. He never touched me in any improper way. He was very respectful, I must say.”

This doesn’t make us feel any less weird about it, especially considering Affleck’s weak response to the Harvey Weinstein accusations this week. Also what’s with the offensive French accent, Ben?

At least we’ve got Rose McGowan to restore our faith in humanity.
