The postal survey is finished and won. The Upper House debates are over. Now, the House of Representatives have made the final move to passing the same-sex marriage bill. It’s OK to cry. This is another relief in a long line of complicated, difficult reliefs. Take a moment to feel joy that same-sex couples finally have the same rights as straight ones, and that we can (hopefully) end the grotesque, debasing and homophobic commentary that has polluted newsfeeds for the last few months.
