Watch the Cobain: Montage Of Heck Trailer

News. Posted 3 years ago

Holy hell. The first trailer for the first authorised documentary about Kurt Cobain is here and it looks like it is going to be one fully intense, fully emotional film.

Called Cobain: Montage of Heck, the documentary is directed by Bret Morgen (The Kid Stays in the Picture, Chicago 10 and Crossfire Hurricane), executive produced by Frances Bean and Courtney Love, and was made with the full cooperation of Kurt Cobain’s family and friends. So, even though we all know the Kurt Cobain story, we probably don’t know this Kurt Cobain story.

The documentary premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year to critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone describing it as “an eight-years-in-the-making collective labor of love that offers a private peek into the artist’s mind, from the first creative stirrings to the spiral downward. And by the time you get to the final shot of Kurt thanking the audience at the band’s MTV Unplugged show, you don’t just feel as if you’ve gotten to know the man better. You’re left completely emotionally spent.”

Just wow. Watch below.
